Last year Snow Ridge Village had a very snowy winter. Some homeowners sustained water damage to their homes when ice dams formed on the roofs, I was one of those unlucky homeowners. I came home to find that my front bedroom rug was soaked. I did not think to remove the accumulating snow and ice on my roof. When the snow melted and tried to flow towards the edge of the roof, the ice dams that had formed on the roof, blocked the flow of this water. This caused the water to back up underneath the roof shingles. It leaked into the house. To help prevent future leaks, I bought a snow roof rake and I am working to keep too much snow from accumulating on the roof. Also, watch out for forming icicles, they can become very large which can be quite dangerous. Enjoy the snow!☃️
