Update: Note from GM: Jack Frost Big Boulder
Greetings to our Valued Neighbors at Jack Frost and Big Boulder Ski Areas! As you all are aware, our Epic Lift Upgrade projects are in full swing at both resorts. We have totally removed the F lift at Jack Frost and the Edelweiss lift at Big Boulder. The lift manufacturer has also dismantled B/C lifts at Jack Frost and Merry Widow 1/2 lifts at Big Boulder. That means the chairs are off, the cables and mechanicals are gone, and the top and bottom structures are removed. The next step in the scope of work is to get the B/C and Merry Widow 1/2 towers off the hills in an environmentally friendly manner. Here’s where things get exciting! We have contracted a professional firm to remove them by helicopter. All permits and FAA approvals are in place for this and fly day is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28 th. The workhorse helicopter will pick the towers up and land them in the parking lots to prep for disposal. We know that some owners and guests will be curious about the activity in the mountains on the fly day. Please be advised that for the safety of everyone, all Jack Frost Big Boulder Ski Area properties will be off-limits except for staff. At JFBB, we value your safety as highly as we value our own and ask for your complete cooperation on fly day. If you happen to have your home rented to others on June 28 th, please advise your guests of these safety guidelines. It is our plan to be transparent and keep our neighbors updated on all that’s going on this summer with lift construction so you can plan accordingly.
